Financial Times: The 9/11 truth movement

Posted by morris108 on June 9, 2008

The important part is it is the Financial Times of London, just what the authour is saying, is very long winded.

But the issue and a call for a new inquiry is there!

If war with Iran, the Internet will probably be cut

Posted by morris108 on June 8, 2008

If there is a war with Iran, the Internet will probably be cut

Of course it will, National Security, prevent terrorists communicating.

It could backfire through stopping people being armchair revolutionaries, and forcing them onto the streets.

But it will feel like a big loss.

Unilateral actions we have already seen when about 6 cables were cut.

When a major demonstration is organised in London, on that day there are severe disruptions to the tube (the underground transport), to prevent people getting there. With similar forethought the authorities wouldn’t want any free communications.

Cutting the internet is likely a possibility in any crises, not only war with Iran.

I think there is nothing that comes close to replacing it.

Whatreallyhappened: The power of Blogging

Posted by morris108 on June 5, 2008

This blog has three posts on the power of blogging, showing ten’s of millions of visitors a day (alexa.com) to various alternative blogs. But a professional like Michael Riviero says it all better.

I AM BLOGGER,
HEAR ME ROAR!

The mainstream media has finally acknowledged what has been obvious for quite some time; that the internet web logs, or “blogs”, are here to stay. Far from being a passing fad, blogs like the present one existed before the word “blog” was coined to describe them. After nearly 14 years, and a readership that exceeds that of most city newspapers, the suggestion that blogs like this one are a passing fancy is at best wishful thinking.

Third of Americans suspect 9-11 government conspiracy

By THOMAS HARGROVE
Scripps Howard News Service

More than a third of the American public suspects that federal officials assisted in the 9/11 terrorist attacks or took no action to stop them so the United States could go to war in the Middle East, according to a new Scripps Howard/Ohio University poll.

ABC Australia “Unanswered 9/11 questions” 16 May 08

Maybe this is the most mainstream publication to show this?

See ABC website for more, there were over 500 comments, and then they closed the comments.

Which web sites are fronts for the intelligence agencies?

Posted by morris108 on May 13, 2008

Which web sites are fronts for the intelligence agencies?

It is impossible to know. Their reach is everywhere. They also have differing views within their organisations. On a site with multiple authours, some of the contributors are surely ‘plants’. Just as the drug squad police want to make friends with dealers and informers, and have to be seen to do ’some deals’. So on the political front it is the same. With the advent of modern technology, absolute surveillance is impossible to avoid.

Although I think if you swim out 80 metres in a noisy wavy ocean, maybe you cannot be eavesdropped upon. Otherwise nothing but nothing but nothing is private. Then of course there are natural divisions within an opposition movement. Opposing the Iraq saga, you could be pro Shia, Baathist, an anarchist, anti imperialist, a Pacifist etc.

Then there are the trolls, people who leave comments in order to distract from a theme or a message in the article or by another commenter. Typically an argument/discussion is started by two commenters.

Haaretz guidelines for commenting

Posted by morris108 on May 11, 2008

I decided to leave a comment on the haaretz article.

Saying a lawyer needed to propose a law to stop warmongering, racist and the far right pushing the country into absurdities.

And that the article whispered of a post zionist mature country, as do other articles on the net.

I don’t expect it to be published so I have typed it here.

Anyway I was surprised that the comments guidelines forbid the use of the words ethnic cleansing.

I mean isn’t that what the whole issue is about.

Less news on Sundays

Posted by morris108 on April 27, 2008

Seems like on Sundays there is less news.

It is only the Christian world that has Sundays off, isn’t it?

Must be less journalists and news editors working.

The front page of WordPress is only boasting 86,000 new posts today.

On a weekday I often see twice that figure.

Web Alt News overtaking print

Posted by morris108 on April 26, 2008

The graph below shows 17 million web page views per day on four very alternative news sites.

There are more than that amount of page views again by adding the lesser known sites together.

The four major sites on the graph are:

www.whatreallyhappened.com

www.rense.com

www.thepeoplesvoice.org

www.prisonplanet.com

Alexa is owned by Amazon

Newspaper circulation has been declining for years!
