Bloomberg: Euro May Be Poised for `Explosive Breakout,’ Citigroup Says

Posted by morris108 on July 3, 2008

The most popular post on this blog has been about an impending economic crash.
It must be in our collective subconscious.
All of us yearning for the confirmation.
Most experts seem to advise buying Gold (or silver).
All the experts seem to say it’s going to get worse before it gets better.
The manifestation of a crash will likely spell the end of the Dollar and the Fed and the whole concept of a fiat currency (at least for the dollar).
Isn’t this what Ron Paul is saying?
He is also saying Peace is profitable.
With the coming economic hurricanes happening at the same time as elections, they could well make a very positive chance for Ron Paul.
Out of everything bad, something good comes along.
And Reaganomics and Bush’s wars might finally go in the dustbin.
That only leaves the Israeli Lobby to discuss.
What will they do, when soup kitchens appear?
Maybe the Good Jews will get more vocal, and kick out the NeoCon Jewish stranglehold.
That will mean no more borrowing for wars, for Armaments and for contractors and for mercenaries.

Euro May Be Poised for `Explosive Breakout,’ Citigroup Says

By Jamie McGee

July 2 (Bloomberg) — The euro may be nearing an “explosive breakout,” reaching record levels against the U.S. dollar, according to a Citigroup Global Markets Inc. research note.

The trading pattern, including a so-called double-bottom that tested lows, resembles the one before Feb. 26 that preceded the surge to $1.6019 per euro, analysts Tom Fitpatrick in New York and Shyam Devani in London wrote in the note today.

“ We cannot help but feel that things might be about to get very bad again,” the analysts said, referring to the possible combination of falling bond yields and rising oil prices.

The exchange rate may approach $1.69 per euro by September if previous patterns are duplicated, the report said.

The dollar fell to a two-month low, trading at $1.5864 at 12:35 p.m. in New York, down 0.5 percent from $1.5793 yesterday. It earlier touched $1.5887, the weakest since April 24. The dollar reached an all-time low of $1.6019 per euro on April 22.

Crude oil rose 1.2 percent to 142.67 per barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange today. It reached a record $143.67 per barrel on June 30.

Two previous breakouts, from August to November and February to April, were accompanied by financial market upheaval and interest-rate spreads favoring Europe, where benchmark lending rates exceed those in the U.S.

Higher European Rates

“While we believe it to be misguided, the ECB will raise its rate tomorrow and one cannot help feel that the rhetoric in recent days suggests that we may be surprised by elevated hawkish language and the suggestion of more to come,” the analysts said, referring to the European Central Bank meeting.

The ECB is forecast to raise its benchmark lending rate by a quarter-percentage point, to 4.25 percent, according to the median estimate of 58 economists Bloomberg surveyed. The Federal Reserve left its key rate unchanged at 2 percent on June 25.

The dollar will rise to $1.50 against the euro by the fourth quarter, according to the median estimates of 44 economists in a Bloomberg survey.

Australian career diplomat Ex EU Ambassaor: Expect a total financial meltdown

Posted by morris108 on July 1, 2008

James Cumes wrote this article with a view to speculating how the next President will cope with an expected financial meltdown.
In my opinion when faced with the entrenched electoral system that exists, how could anyone who is produced as a president, do anything.
The economic fault lines are so deep, that only (a peaceful) revolution could help.
No amount of tax returns or interest rate didgery doos will help.
The authour does portray a faulty system, and takes heed with predatory capitalism and “free” markets.
But he has chosen not to be on the lunatic extremes in calling for a complete overhaul, although he hints at it. Which leaves one left to waffle about Obama, Hillary and McCain.
While Obama seems the nicest of the three. The problem is the system.
As the dollar collapses, he’ll still be obliged to be shouting about Iran. Even though he knows better.
It seems to me that a crashing dollar can be the only evidence of a meltdown.
And the world might be surprised how it can survive without the US.

…European banks and non-bank financial institutions have been showing similar signs of weakness and distress. Moreover, the prospect is for the global finance industry to endure waves of defaults on credit cards, car loans and corporate loans. “We believe we’re entering Phase II,” said a credit analyst of Dresdner Kleinwort. “The liquidity crisis has eased a little, but the real credit losses are accelerating. The worst is yet to come.”
[...]

But discussions of fundamental issues and of how to reform the financial system have been lacking. Almost invisible is the problem of how to handle what must now be seen as the almost inevitable, virtual meltdown of the system. That meltdown is now well on the way and can only intensify in the months to come.

We have seen little acknowledgement that such a collapse was always inherent in the financial system that evolved since the early 1980s and even more robustly in the last decade. The rolling thunder of the gathering financial storm will be even more foreboding from August when the presidential election campaigns gather full momentum; and the lightning flashes will follow ever more closely on the thunder by the time the elections are held in early November.

By the time the successful candidate moves into the White House next January, financial devastation may already have swept through the American and global economy like a tornado….

Gloom & Doom an unnecessary NeoCon hell

    Posted by morris108 on June 26, 2008

An open letter to all Israelis (& their sympathizers) over 40.
Why over 40? By then the reality of spin & lies by the media has become apparent. Before the 40’s principles and convictions may be strong. But there is no understanding of the strength of an enemy.
For those that are over 40 and still identify with principles and no understanding of the adversaries strength, then you are the Jews greatest enemy.

You speak with the hubris to conquer.
With the logic that some sacrifice is required to achieve the greater goal ( of biblical truth ).

And what keeps you afloat is an ability to subdue the weak, whether they be Palestinians, Iraqis or your own independent thinkers.

Incidentally the overwhelming military advantage you have had vis a vis the Palestinians, Iraqis and Afghans proves nothing, least of all your ability to wage war on an equal.

And the independent thinkers can be routed by framing and deciept, this is what you have been reduced to. Your ideals are based on a belief that spirituality is ethnic. That you are continuing a long line of ancestry. And for this it is necessary for everyone to sacrifice. But you can only control through interference in a person’s private life, and this art you have perfected.

Is it from the bible? A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest.

Well everyday less and less people are reading the mainstream media.

The big question remains, are you going to make the peace, or end the days in a glorious fireball.

For all the attention you give to making a dissidents life impossible, there are good chances you’ll be able to eliminate them all. And just in time, just when the buttons are being pressed.

Or you yourselves could ask to what end is your personal and collective energies leading.
Is there no way to negotiate a withdrawal from the ever expansionist neocon direction.

God helps those that help themselves. God is not going to help anyone wielding a big stick.

And you use your pseudo liberalism to further your aims, by the use of Gays and people of mixed ethnic origin.

    What about considering less control?
You’ve had more control than the earth has ever witnessed before, and all that lies before us, is a collective sense of unfolding gloom and doom.
Even the economic system is proving untenable. And the world is holistic, and the whole logic is up for questioning. And if you question it: Spirituality, Ethnicity, Financial systems, then maybe you’ll find a solution.

Today right living has become, showing allegiance and doing the ritual. Nothing more nothing less.
    Just punishing those that don’t.
The nightmare that is the NeoCons.

Continue eavesdropping and interfering, after all it is for your ancestors that you do it!
And enjoy all the ’stitching up’ that is your daily fare.

CounterPunch: Total surveillance (& control) with technology

    Posted by morris108 on June 20, 2008

    This is 2008: total surveillance.
If you are a dissident, or indeed if you are being head hunted by the mafia, a corporation or an intelligence agency. Expect to be undermined with the aid of technology.

    Techno-Fascism: Every Move You Make
    Chellis Glendinning: CounterPunch

Surveillance of private calls and emails. Cameras documenting every move. No habeas corpus. Unimpeded entry into personal financial records. Voting machines changing election outcomes with the flick of a switch. Protest defined as terrorism.

With some private knowledge on an individual it is perfectly possible to undermine their social life. To this end a human is somewhat useless on his or her own.
Or if necessary disrupt the family life.

“Inverted totalitarianism,” as [Sheldon Wolin] calls it in his recent Democracy Incorporated, “lies in wielding total power without appearing to, without establishing concentration camps, or enforcing ideological uniformity, or forcibly suppressing dissident elements so long as they remain ineffectual.
    [...]
Inverted totalitarianism is both inverted and totalitarian because of the power of modern mass technological systems to shape and control social realities, just as they shape and control individual understandings of those realities

Its contemporary existence is most definitely the result of the efforts of a group of right-wing fundamentalists who hurled themselves into power through devious means — but today’s desperate social inequities, dire ecological predicament, and fascist politic are the offspring of long-evolving technological centralization and control. [...]

Perhaps a post mortem on our civilisation will say: the humans weren’t ready for technology, all they could do with it is interfere in peoples lives.

The authour Chellis Glendinning ends the post by suggesting the future will be a return to localisation. And therefore the end of our rapid mass mobility. A kind of back to roots and eating locally:

Or visions of the forced localization that Peak Oil, economic collapse, climate change, and ecological devastation propose.

    America, will you sink already?!

    Posted by morris108 on June 20, 2008

    America, will you sink already?!
Waging war on Pakistan’s tribal area.
About to start a naval blockade on Iran.
Trying to set up a missile system in Lithuania.
Wooing Georgia and Ukraine into NATO.

Ya you got support at the UN for your resolutions.

But don’t you think Russia and China and Iran are aligned? Talking all the time.

You have bankrupted your own country. Nor is the UK in good shape.

    Practiced genocide and torture.

    The world doesn’t need you.

“Washington must learn from its past mistakes or face a valiant nation that is not afraid of ridding the region of their presence once and for all,” said Larijani on Wednesday.

The US actions do not make sense, they are simply self defeating.

And your allies: UK France Italy Canada Dutch, none of the people support the warring.

Which makes for a boss no one likes.

Now don’t get me wrong, American people are great. Then the question is: ‘what has gone wrong?’

Ron Paul: Audit Fort Knox: FLASHBACK Nov 07

    Posted by morris108 on June 18, 2008

If he wanted to audit Fort Knox, that means something fishy is going on.
I think he has officially withdrawn from the presidential race.
But anything is possible, there are 5 and a half months left.
And people who rock the boat, disappear, often with heart attacks.
I wouldn’t count him out of the running. He seems to have a sense of how far he can go.
But Fort Knox being filled with Hershey bars could upset some people.

Ron Paul has made the preservation of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights a centerpiece in his campaign for the Whitehouse and has said in the past that he would ‘repeal the police state’ referring to the Patriot Act.

Paul hammered the Federal Reserve monetary system for creating money out of thin air and said that true inflation was being covered up. He also said to volcanic cheers that he wanted to Audit Fort Knox.

Paul linked freedom to prosperity. We can’t afford empire, empire costs money and we are going into debt to finance the war. Paul criticized the cost of ‘maintaining empire’ referring to the U.S. global military presence.

9/11 truth movement hitting mainstream media

    Posted by morris108 on June 18, 2008

Oh 9/11 won’t you go away?

We had a few bad guys at the top, but most of us are loyal and compassionate.

Dear truth movement have you to bring the whole system down?

Intelligence agencies clean themselves, they don’t go through the courts and the media.

Given the popularity of the subject it would appear most people want to know more. Which means most people don’t believe the official version.

And when the suspicions first started, most people kept their head low.
But now we have Chiefs of Staff, ex government ministers and even an ex Prime Ministervoicing opposition.

As to what the correct path should be (for the oligarchy)?

Calling off the war on terror will create a little calm.

Condoning the transfer of power to non neocons will allow behind the scenes plea bargaining.

    Even Nixon got a pardon.

The entire upper echelon is in a grip of fear, (see Pelosi won’t go for impeachment).

You can’t become a public figure without being smeared is some corruption. And anyway their family’s would suffer.

So like the Czars chose to listen to Rasputin (who said the people will never rise).
The cabal is left to wage war, that is all they know.

This policy will likely lead to some social unrest, which might mean the ‘haves’ will become the ‘havenots’.

But the whole imperial post 2nd WW strategies have come to an end.

Of course there is a reverse argument, that the US will conquer Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Venezuela, Cuba ….

    Obama on 9/11

“It was the Republicans who helped engineer the distraction of the war in Iraq at a time when we could have pinned down the people who actually committed 9/11,” he asserted.

Extracts from a post on 9/11 & international questioning

In a September 2003 article for The Guardian newspaper, Michael Meacher, who served as Tony Blair’s environment minister from May 1997 to June 2003, shocked the establishment by calling the global war on terrorism “bogus.” Even more controversially, he implied that the U.S. government either allowed 9/11 to happen, or played some role in the destruction wrought that day.

Maj. Gen. Albert Stubblebine, who was commanding general of U.S. Army Intelligence and Security until 1984, is quoted on the ‘ Patriots Question 9/11 ‘ Web site as saying, “I look at the hole in the Pentagon and I look at the size of an airplane that was supposed to have hit the Pentagon. And I said, ‘The plane does not fit in that hole.

One [9/11] commission member (Sen. Max Cleland) resigned, saying the White House did not disclose enough information.”
On Democracy Now’s radio show in March 2004, Cleland even went as far as to say, “This White House wants to cover it (the facts of 9/11) up.”

    Ron Paul this week

Meanwhile, those who do not fight the war, but fund it, are forced to pay both the immediate costs, as well as seeing their long term purchasing power erode, as the twin pillars of debt and inflation are foisted upon the backs of current taxpayers and future generations.

The danger is when the noose appears, war with someone will look more attractive.
Are we all to suffer (at least in income) for a few waywards at the top?
The Financial Times has just done a piece on 9/11, and so has Switzerlands largest selling daily (Blick).

All the experts say a dollar rout is likely.

    Posted by morris108 on June 17, 2008

All reports speak of the US’ declining power, and the trend looks set to continue.
We observe some inflation and less dinero.
But a real decline is a crash. In this case a $ crash.
Britain, Sweden, Argentina and many others have seen what a ‘run’ on a currency can do. It can happen very quickly, over a few days a currency can markedly devalue.
The big question is: would it make the Americans withdraw their troops from around the world?

The current slow decline will continue till suddenly the $ goes over the precipice. Maybe the US will create a new currency with a Govt. Owned central bank.

The MegaIndustrialists cum imperialists will witness increasing defiance amongst the population. Yet they will still be plotting, sabotaging, and making spin.

People become more self reliant, Grow Your Own, and living outside the system.

And with extreme weather likely to continue, its all looking like a load of separate ingredients. Where everyone has different priorities.
If they’ve lost control of foriegn policy, they’ve also lost control of domestic policy, (see the economy). The NeoCons couldn’t cope with an emergency, it would be Katrina all over again.

There have been black Mondays and Black Fridays on World Stock Markets, and so they learned a few new restrictions, no automatic computer sell offs.

But the currency markets probably have a mind of their own. And tricks are all there is, and tricks won’t fix the dollar.
    Stopping the wars will.

This is what Ron Paul was saying this week:

Neither conspiracy nor coincidence explains steep increases in the price of gas as the war drags on. No, this is simply a reality of the inflationary policies that, among other things, make this war possible.

As people are continually asked to choose whether our nation’s teetering economy or the failed foreign policy of the past several decades is most important as we look forward, it is well for those of us who understand that these two issues are closely linked, to continue to explain this fact to our fellow citizens. To fix the problem requires a proper diagnosis.

    Capitalism Denial Now Illegal

    Posted by morris108 on June 16, 2008

This week Presidential directives from both the EU and the US have made it illegal to deny the benefits of capitalism.

In recognition of the banks, the money traders, advertisers and investors it is necessary to show homage and respect to the above professions.

Anyone suggesting that consumerism, interest rates and or debt is a bad thing can be tried in a court of law and face five years in jail.

The presidents found these new laws necessary because people who had personal or family problems were misguided into blaming our economic way of life.

Furthermore the words “In god we trust” now on the Dollar bills will be replaced with “In capitalism we trust”.

Economist: likelihood of ban on Turkish ruling party is a disastrous mistake.

    Posted by morris108 on June 15, 2008

The likelihood of a ban on the ruling party is growing. It would be a disastrous mistake.

The economist makes a long list of convincing reasons why banning the AKP would be very bad for Europe. It predicts disorder and a strengthening of islamic parties and disquiet over much of the Turkish nation.

The secularist elite, the economist points out, is shrinking.

The question is, is there outside meddling. Is it a neocon manipulation? Are forces of industry and finance desiring a ‘regime change’. Judging from the economist we can expect it all to go haywire.

It all seems similar to the PA challenging Hamas in Gaza or the Leb. government taking on Hizbollah.

The AKP just won 47% of the vote, and have ruled for 6 years.
The economist does not mention the size of Turkey’s military (it is huge), nor the repercussions for the west if the judiciary and military become discredited, through a failed policy.

The panic amongst the secularists and the military is that the government could move towards Iran.

Turkey has refused to accept any more hospitality from the IMF and the government feels it can succeed without the loans and subsequent policing of them. So we know the IMF is upset (and that includes their friends, other private and institutional investors).
It smells like turmoil is on its way, and the irony is this is the government that started talks with the EU.

Maybe Iran can act as peacemaker? It has a good record in Iraq and Lebanon. And Iran is cooperating with Turkey on Kurdish issues.

BTW the auhoritative economist has its own intelligence unit.

If this is a NeoCon triggered plan, how can they imagine to succeed when nothing else they have done has worked?

From another Economist opinion piece on the same issue:

To many the case is like a judicial coup: a last-ditch attempt to cling to power by an elite that refuses to share wealth and social space with a rising class of pious Turks, symbolised by the AKP. It may also further discredit the constitutional court.

And this article ends on this sentence:

… the threat of radical Islam in Turkey may have increased thanks to the secularists’ attack on the AKP.

Dow plummets 3%, Oil record high 138.5$.

    Posted by morris108 on June 7, 2008

Will it be black Monday (on Monday). Even if the Dollar is crashing and banks are failing.

Life will continue, the States may begin to be like Argentina after the crash. Barter will get stronger.

The rest of us will continue, albeit with some uncertainty.

The press, the president and officials will say it is just a blip. But it is the beginning of the end for Free Market Capitalism, (and monopoly money) and for the Multinational that is not beholden to a country.
What went wrong? Messianic instincts! The idea of shaping a legacy was so powerful, bigger than any individual’s common sense. And so at the height of power, people over extended themselves.

The NeoCons could see this threat of recession as an opportunity to further their war aims, but a sudden crash could derail war intentions because it will cause social unrest in the US.

Increasingly out on a limb is how authority looks, like in a bubble wrap. Like Nixon was. And in the midst of a revolution based on the internet. People all over the world sharing knowledge and attitudes.
One of these Mondays there will be a crash.

All the major traders will be recognised as rogue traders, without any concern for cum uppence day. The worst part is: in the end everything was contingent on Iraq.

Now the western financial system is sinking at the bottom and at the top.

These people are in no condition to go to war. They might know how to start a war, with multiple maps and plans. But they have no clue as to what the enemy can do, nor do they know who all of the countries that would join the enemy are. Nor could they be relied upon to make a sane judgment in a crises. Whatever supporters they think they have, they do not include the populations of any country, except perhaps Israel.

The NeoCons have lost, it has manifested in the economy. How much more folly are we going to allow?

The economy in Southern Spain: personal observations

    Posted by morris108 on June 6, 2008

I rely on the tourist trade in Andalucia, having been here three years, there has been a noticable decline each year, but this year is 25 per cent of last years tourist dinero. So less money and less people. Restaurants are down by far, and every other tourist trade. The Spanish economy is reportedly suffering, with a big slide in housing prices, 20% and more. The tourists and the expats are mostly of the ‘expect more gloom’ mood.

Spain also has rural non commercial destinations where there is little consumerism.

But if relying on the commerce of tourism be ones way of life, then right now it is looking terminal.

With inflation noticable (particularly with food), and vacant seats and shops on the increase, it feels like the end of capitalism.

Keynesian roadworks are everywhere, and the infrastucture is amazing (compared to the UK). But a whole way of life, of living off of tourists seems to be evaporating.

The west is seeing the end of Reagonomics/Thatcherism, free trade and markets are starting to be scrutinised. Where’s the trickle down part?

(picture from: http://www.nerja.to/nerja_beaches.htm the picture is only true symbolically)

Asad: In the early days of such statements people used to base their decisions on them, either politically or even economically. Now, the US administration has lost all credibility and is viewed as illogical.

The US weapons are not that effective on the political terrain. We keep explaining to unofficial US visitors this lack of credibility problem in the region. John F. Kennedy in the sixties sent a delegation to the French president with an envelope including photos of Russian nuclear missiles in Cuba. The French president refused to see the photos and said that the credibility of the US president is enough for him to make a decision accordingly. The current impact of these negative statements is non-existent. On the contrary in 2000 the [economic] growth rate in Syria was almost 0 percent. It increased to more than 6 percent today despite these statements.

When the Middle Class are hungry, then there’ll be change

    Posted by morris108 on June 3, 2008

The only way to stop the war is if the middle class revolt.
The poor are used to injustice, and so are the rich.
The intellectuals have used no end of reasonable arguments, and they will continue, but no one in power is listening to them.

When the food and oil is sky high, only then will enough be enough.

High oil should encourage eating locally produced food. And expensive food will stop the eating out.
Now many say the current US government does not abide by the constitution.

The military taking over and withdrawing the troops would be unconstitutionally apropos.

Could Ron Paul do what Yeltzin did? When he went on top of a tank.
Mutiny when the captain has lost the plot.

I looked up ‘mutiny’ at wikipedia, thinking there might be a time when it is pardonable. Well apparently not, It can be punishable by death! So Mutiny is a bad idea. However disobeying illegal orders is permitted:

    Uniform Code of Military Justice, Art. 94; 10 U.S.C. § 894 (2004).

U.S. military law requires obedience only to lawful orders. Disobedience to unlawful orders is the obligation of every member of the U.S. armed forces, a principle established by the Nuremberg trials and reaffirmed in the aftermath of the My Lai Massacre. However, a U.S. soldier who disobeys an order after deeming it unlawful will almost certainly be court-martialed to determine whether the disobedience was proper. In addition, simple refusal to obey is not mutiny, which requires collaboration or conspiracy to disobedience.[1]

Employer: There is nothing you can do, that we need.

    Posted by morris108 on June 1, 2008

There is nothing you can do, that we need.

Said the employer to the job applicant.

And that was the death knell of capitalism.

    Not for manufacturing.

    Not for the financial markets

And you couldn’t do the agricultural work.

People were encouraged to look at religion and the Army. Some did, some didn’t. They could feel like welfare.

Suddenly 30% of the people had nothing to do. Governments offered free internet and free cable TV.

    No one was happy.

Self sufficiency, barter, offering individualistic services helped, qualifications were meaningless.

Experts at first compared the situation to 1930’s. It soon became apparent, this was different. The worlds factories were in Asia. The resources were overseas. Because of inflation; the financial system didn’t work, and no one trusted the financiers, in fact no one trusted anyone.

And the Multinationals limbered on like Dinosaurs awaiting extinction. Ultimately nationalism appeared, but even that was mirky, 5 to 20% of western populations were foreigners.

Waging wars went out of fashion, simply because they not only created enemies where they went, but they also created enemies amongst previously non belligerent countries. Alignments said this loudly: SCO, BRIC, even the UN and the EEC.

Life started looking bizarre: Peasant subsistence with Internet and satellite dishes.

Oil consumption did go down, and people became less mobile. In big cities like Chicago and New York donkeys became popular again

Ron Paul revolution okay, but not including religion

    Posted by morris108 on May 28, 2008

    Jewish looking at Ron Paul?
The news about Ron Paul’s relatives helping him in his campaign means he is gaining approval from the religious to continue. The Washington Post ran an article on this yesterday. And the subject has been picked up everywhere.

I wish him a happy family.

These days the mainstream media represents the ruling elite. And the family is the cornerstone of our society (and it is true). Public figures need to qualify, and set an example.
Bush to son, Clinton to wife.

Ron Paul is also making the same statement by having his family work for him.

Moving on, Ron Paul intends to dismantle and do away with the Federal Reserve. That in itself is a revolution. The internet has publicised the knowledge about Fiat money (not backing the currency with anything, like Gold for example) and that the Fed is privately owned.

As everyone is saying, America has lost its economy, it is very ripe for a (peaceful) revolution.
With Nepotism as a banner it will please everyone. Religion and family are the same thing. That’s a good formula: all the revolution you want, but not including religion.

Summary of last 7 days posts

    Posted by morris108 on May 27, 2008

The power of religion is rarely discussed openly, save for gossipy comments of the wealth of the Vatican. Or the wealth of the British throne which is head of the Church of England. Or looking at pictures of Presidents and Prime Ministers with Rabbis. Clearly there is a power there, so any insight into how they think would be useful. What follows is an excerpt of a review of just what life and death meant in the Bible times.
When business, politics, private life are all rolled into one. Then we have judge jury and prosecutor all rolled into one. When power revolves around a knowledge of people’s private lives, then that is authoritarian. If it is highly effective, then we must ask: ‘what has gone wrong?’. (see post for more)
You are blessed with being quick on your feet. When everything is changing, you can alter course in a ‘concerted’ way. Now is the time. Hush hush and damage limitation will no longer work. When the tide is changing due to an unforeseen enemy (the internet). (see post for more)
After Bush leaves office there will be a clamour for prosecuting him & his colleagues for war crimes. Also the US will be in the midst of a recession and there will be a cry for justice there.
Olmert says only those hallucinating can think of keeping post 67 territories. (Haaretz later changed the word hallucinating to delusional) It seems everything is up for grabs. (see post for more)

“I propose leasing the Golan from the Syrians for 25 years. If they are serious about peace they have nothing to lose,” Israeli interior minister Meir Sheetrit said on Sunday” Maybe he should be put on the front line. see post for more
The people with the real power keep themselves well out of sight. And until you speak nicely about them, you are watched 24 hours a day. Essentially framed to be involved in some form of criminal or perverse activity everyday.
Now we find ourselves in a consesus of doom. Everyone is anticipating an end to the era we are in. Those in power might fret about calls for justice, but they are still in power, every minute of every day right now. The whole shabang is creeking, weather, resourses and wars. Increasingly debates on internet forums focus on the Industrialists, on the multinationals. The speculators (read: financiers) are singled out as responsible for rising food and oil costs. Well none of the above are going to relinquish…

Israel couldn’t leave settlers in Golan in a peace agreement. They would report back that living under Arab rule has its advantages. This would be anathema to the Israeli establishment. For this reason any withdrawal will be staged over years, and generous compensation will be given. Any settlers allowed to remain would be cherry picked for [...]
The free west, sex for sale, drugs for sale, money is the religion. And everyone can be made to play the game, very simply, by honing in on a person’s weakness or prejudice. It is possible to drive a person crazy. After all when money is the only legal tender, anything goes. All under the illusion of being liberal.
