Deciphering gobbledygook.

This item is from Debka, a website that is commonly labeled as having close connections to Israeli intelligence.

Debka is also known for being a source of rumour and disinfo.

Yet there must be some truth in Debka’s postings, or at least, some truth it is trying to conceal.

US intelligence warned India of Mumbai attack in mid-October Report

DEBKAfile’s intelligence sources report that the Indian spy agency RAW (the Research and Analysis Wing) caught wind of a terrorist threat for Mumbai in late August,

more information was collected by RAW during September and October about the shape of the attack and its targets and passed to the American NSA.

So for a period of three months Indian intelligence was gathering information on this terrorist strike. BTW Indian and Israeli intelligence are quite intimate. I will add a link here Maybe I won’t.

The American ABC TV reported on Dec. 1 that Indian intelligence also intercepted a satellite phone call to a number in Pakistan known to be used by a leader of the Kashmiri Lashkar e-Taiba, which is accused of staging the Mumbai attack. This group is known for its ties to al Qaeda and Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence. This enabled the American NSA to monitor the calls terrorists made by Thuraya mobile communications system satellite phones. That is how they were able to warn their Indian counterparts in mid-October of a potential attack “from the sea against hotels and business centers in Mumbai,” as ABC reported. The Taj Palace Hotel was mentioned.

So ABC is saying the US NSA told RAW specifically about the Taj and a sea landing etc!!!

In reality all of these intelligence outfits and the operators are a law unto themselves and not subservient to their political masters. They know all the criminal affairs, which is billions of dollars in trade. But they are also no doubt loyal to their respective countries.

This story could have been written by a screenwriter in Hollywood, and maybe it was, but still it was broadcast on ABC and we can assume a minimum of tens of million of people have heard this account. And accepted it as truth.

DEBKAfile’s sources add that the Thuraya 3 satellite system serves a population of 2.3 billion in the Middle East and Asia. Owned by Abu Dhabi, many of its clients are Muslim.

The warning was relayed by US government agencies to the Manmohan Singh government which passed it on to political officials in Mumbai, India’s financial capital.

There it stopped.

The US NSA was already communicating with the Indian intelligence RAW, which they anyway do all the time. But now the US told the Singh Government, that is, the politicians.

The warning never reached the city’s security or marine authorities which might have intercepted the terrorists’ boats as they landed.

Indian’s special counter-terror units were taken completely by surprise when the Islamists struck the city Wednesday, Nov. 26.

Even if they were taken by surprise, they are an outfit designed for rapid response! Why did it take them days to respond?

These revelations raise two troubling questions: Why did the Indian government fail to act to pre-empt the terrorist attack?

Were there right wing elements who would be happy to let the attacks occur, knowing the effect would be to raise anti Muslim attitudes?

Or is that what Debka is saying, don’t blame the mercenaries (and their paymasters) who added to the violence because you knew all along about it anyway?

And why did the Bush administration, when it was clear that the Indians were doing nothing, not issue a public warning about a terrorist attack in the making as it has done in former cases?

Because it knew that RAW (Indian intelligence) was ‘on top of it’, the politicians (probably in all countries) are not the real power base. The intelligence agencies and the lobbies and the tycoons are.

At all events, the disclosure about the communications between US and Indian intelligence refutes the comment from US Secretary of state Condoleezza Rice in London that Washington had no information linking the Mumbai attack to Pakistan.

Now Debka is inferring the US knew there was Pakistani involvement, and also that whatever faction Condi Rice is in, it is out of favour with the Israelis. That is the point of condemning her here in public, which signifies a major parting of the ways, given the support she has shown for Israel in the past.

But perhaps this is an emergency situation.

This article makes me think the cat is out of the bag, completely out of the bag, all the top echelons know there were outsiders who were not part of the terrorists who joined in the killing spree.

The article is saying the Americans and the Indians had foreknowledge, also the article does not state the obvious that American intelligence could have easily informed the Pakistanis and had the people arrested and even had them deported to the US. The US has done this in the past!

There is a subtext to this post, saying, don’t blame the Israelis, the Indians and the US knew all along. But everyone but everyone is terrified of the Israelis, who would do a thing when it is known the Israelis are informed?

Even the Indians in their own country know they benefit whenever Israel is involved.
