Israel will make peace if there is American pressure: The big lie
If the US had withdrawn support for Israel at anytime in the last 40 years, Israel would have made peace.

But it is important to maintain the myth that America is the key to peace in the Middle East. All the resources behind the lobbies are tied in with Israeli aims, or maybe they are dictating Israeli aims. It is very much a dog and tail. The American supporters for Israel are indistinguishable from the Israeli right. Their interest in the Middle East is about controlling the oil flow.

If America is identified with an Israeli peace agreement, then there is cause for continuing the tight umbilical cord. Because really Condi Rice and Tony Blair are paper tigers. They are the figureheads to appear as if they are changing diplomatic relations. Their orders might originate in Jerusalem, or by the Lobbies in London or Washington.

The point of this post is to see through the wasted energy of considering European or US support for a peace agreement as necessary. It will be provided on call. It is the Israelis and their International supporters that dictate if there will be peace or not.
All the Arab countries have agreed to the 67 borders as acceptable. Even Hamas. It is the US and other European supporters who are keeping Israel in a non giving stance. Just as so many of the settlers are from the US.

Yes Israelis can vote a right wing government in, but under examination it will be discovered these right wingers are advised by Neocons, and provided campaign public relations by US right wing lobbies.

Israel will make peace if there is American pressure is a cosmetic lie, its only aim is to encourage the US Israeli connection, the only people duped by this lie are the Americans and the Israelis. The Arab intelligentsia knows the US and Israeli forces are joined at the hip, and joined by the Lobby. If America stopped fighting Muslims that would help the Peace.

Yet the facade continues. Annapolis, Dennis Ross and all sorts of groupings called this or that for Middle Eastern Peace. They are pretenses to buy time, establish facts on the ground, and provide shows for the TV watchers.

There is every possibility America is about to turn inwards, that will usher in Peace. And all the Rahm Emmanuels and Wars on terrorists will go quiet.

The Israeli press is preparing people for a ‘Land for Peace’ deal. But they want to make adjustments to the 67 borders, and there is the contentious issue of returning Palestinian refugees and not accepting Hamas as the legitimate leadership of the palestinians. So we therefore can expect more war.

With all the arrests and incursions being launched into Palestinian areas every week, it would seem that the Israelis have decided that it is possible to kowtow the people into submission. I hope they do not think this will have a lasting effect, or create a lasting peace.
